Under the EIT RawMaterials call for start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs in response to the COVID-19 crisis, Radai will develop a unique radiometric survey system for a fixed-wing drone. The system measures gamma radiation emitted and it is used in mineral exploration to detect bedrock structures and mineralizations.
It is generally known that mining and mineral exploration companies use radiometric systems for mineral exploration together with other exploration techniques such as magnetic and electromagnetic survey systems. Radai’s innovation offers premises for significant improvements in mineral survey processes. One of the main advantages of Radai’s technology consists in the fact that it offers possibilities to conduct surveys over challenging environments: forest, swamps, rivers etc. In the same time mining companies will get information on the target area quickly and affordably.
Radai has developed a magnetic survey system for fixed-wing drone in EIT RM MULSEDRO (MultiSensorDrone) project (2017–2020). In the proposed project, Radai will develop a new radiometric system that is installed into the same drone as the magnetometer. The new survey system will be running on EIT RM MULSEDRO project drone platform which contains versatile data logger functionalities.
